How can I get even more points in the Digital Life/Diablo III Quest?

So, you got all the possible points you can get in the Digital Life/Diablo III Quest. Now … what?

Sit back and wait for the results to be announced? NAWWWWWH.

Because … you can get even more points when people ‘like’ your claims! (Claims = your submissions to the challenges, for the non-GameMaki savvy.)

And considering how everyone stands to earn the same number of points after doing all the challenges, getting these extra ‘likes’ makes a huuuuuuuge difference!

WHOA! I WANT POINTS NAO! TELL ME HOW TO GET THESE EXTRA POINTS!

Sure, sure! Here goes!

1. Get your friends to sign up at Gamemaki.com!
2. Direct them to your profile. (You may find your direct profile URL from your settings!)
3. Get them to click ‘like’ on as many claims as you have!

Click 'like' for more points!

It’s really that simple! And of course, the more ‘likes’ you get on your claims, the more points you get! So, grab as many friends as you can and get them to ‘like’ your claims!

GO, GO, GO!

P/S: No cheating! Believe me, we CAN tell. (;

If you logged into GameMaki this morning, you may notice that your points have increased by a good tens … or even hundreds (if you are really that awesome).

Mother of god!

Well, your eyes aren’t kidding you!

We tweaked the points system a little over the week, and here is the latest points structure!

You will receive 10 points for every challenge claimed. (No change there …)
You will receive 20 points for every challenge claimed with a photo. (Well, no change there either …)
You will receive 5 points for every ‘like’ you receive on your claim. (WHOA!)
You will receive an instant 50 points if the challenge owner ‘likes’ your claim. (DOUBLE WHOA!)

Previously, every 5 ‘likes’ you receive on your claim earned you only a measely 10 points, and a ‘like’ to your claim by the challenge owner gave you a 20 point bonus.

So what does this mean for you awesome GameMaki folk? The stakes have more than doubled – so claims you post from now on better be great! Now, show the world all the awesome challenges you’ve done!

P/S: The new points system applies to all claims you’ve made in the past as well!

Also, for folks out there who love to post challenges and wondering what are the benefits you can yield from your challenge, here’s a recap of what you can earn.

You will receive an instant 20 points when you’ve received 5 likes or more to your challenge!
You will receive 20 points for every 5 claims to your challenge.

Schweeeeeeet.

Let’s keep it simple – ‘Maki’ are now just called ‘Games’.

We’ve always adhered strictly to the KISS mantra – ‘Keep It Simple, Stupid’.

To us, ‘keeping it simple’ meant a fuss-free and clean (yet powerful) interface, keeping it as intuitive as possible, cutting back on features and leaving only what people need.

We know that unnecessary complexity only leads to confusion and frustration and hey, we want to keep you as happy as possible!

But all this while, we’ve completely overlooked something … which we only realized just a matter of weeks ago.

“WHAT THE HECK IS A ‘MAKI’?!”

Oops, our bad.

Well, here’s where we’d launch into our long grandmother’s story about how ‘Maki’ is a Japanese rice roll which contains loads of juicy fresh ingredients. And challenges on GameMaki are like fresh ingredients dished out daily by our loyal users. So, grouping challenges is like making a deliciously juicy ‘Maki’. (Not to mention how it ties in so nicely with our name, ‘GameMaki’!)

At this point, we’d receive two distinct responses. It’ll either be (1) a look of realization and an exclamation of “Wow, that’s so creative!” or (2) a look of complete bewilderment and “Wow, that’s … umm, abstract.”

So from now on, let’s just call a spade a spade, shall we?

‘Maki’ will no longer be called ‘Maki’. They’re just games. And games on GameMaki are a group of challenges. So, it’s time to go play away!

No more fancy schmancy names for us. They’re counter-intuitive.

Challenge timing out in 3 … 2 … 1 …

You know, a lot of excitement in our lives comes from the time element. You look at your watch and know that you’re gonna be late for work. And that sparks off a high-speed chase for your bus (look, isn’t that YOUR bus pulling away from that bus stop right now?!) and a mad dash up 22 slights of stairs (because the lifts are so bloody packed … GRAR!).

Or you know that a sale is going to end in a matter of two days but you can’t seem to get any time off your hectic schedule to check it out? Your heart beats faster and faster as each day passes, knowing that you’re missing out on some great bargains.

But you’ve managed it anyway. And you can’t help but experience that “Whoa, I made it! +10!” excitement despite being all tired out, huffing and puffing. It’s an awesome feeling.

Get my drift?

That’s why … you may now add a time element to your challenges!

Expiry dates for challenges
Challenges can now expire, act fast!

Those of you out there who loooooove to add challenges to your to-do list and then sit on ‘em. Don’t dawdle anymore! (;

Challenges that can expire ups the fun element so much, don’t they? Plus, this will also ensure you’ll discover only the most relevant, up-to-date challenges all the time. Whoopie!

On top of that, GameMaki comes packed with more toppings. You can now remove challenges from your to-do list directly, so you needn’t fret any longer when things become too overwhelming. (Omgahhh, I have 99 challenges in my to-do list and I can’t finish ‘em all!) Plus, you can now restrict your challenges to photo-only claims as an option (which means all the jokers who fraudulently claim challenges with random comments will be excluded)!

Oh, and one more thing!

Tag your friends!

Now, you can tag your friends in your challenges, claims and comments! With tagging, you can dedicate an entire challenge to a friend, or include other users in conversations!
