How can I get even more points in the Digital Life/Diablo III Quest?

So, you got all the possible points you can get in the Digital Life/Diablo III Quest. Now … what?

Sit back and wait for the results to be announced? NAWWWWWH.

Because … you can get even more points when people ‘like’ your claims! (Claims = your submissions to the challenges, for the non-GameMaki savvy.)

And considering how everyone stands to earn the same number of points after doing all the challenges, getting these extra ‘likes’ makes a huuuuuuuge difference!

WHOA! I WANT POINTS NAO! TELL ME HOW TO GET THESE EXTRA POINTS!

Sure, sure! Here goes!

1. Get your friends to sign up at Gamemaki.com!
2. Direct them to your profile. (You may find your direct profile URL from your settings!)
3. Get them to click ‘like’ on as many claims as you have!

Click 'like' for more points!

It’s really that simple! And of course, the more ‘likes’ you get on your claims, the more points you get! So, grab as many friends as you can and get them to ‘like’ your claims!

GO, GO, GO!

P/S: No cheating! Believe me, we CAN tell. (;

Press release: GameMaki launches world’s first game concept sushi chain in San Francisco with Standing Sushi Bar

Update on 2nd April – Happy April Fool’s! We have lots of fun with this one, with some enquiries and interests from media even! We surely hope to get to this one day – meanwhile, we are working hard to gamify the experiences for merchants such as Standing Sushi Bar already, albeit not as extreme as getting them to do a challenge to exit the place!

After two months of discussions and preparatory ground work in San Francisco, GameMaki announces the launch of its gaming theme-based sushi chain in San Francisco. Together with Standing Sushi Bar, a popular sushi chain with two branches in Singapore and a franchise in Jakarta, this joint venture marks the second time both companies are working together, first being Standing Sushi’s game on GameMaki (http://gamemaki.com/game/standingsushigame).

The name of the chain is ‘GameMaki Bar’, while the menu will be based on the proven menu selections from Standing Sushi Bar. The restaurant will introduce the concept of gamification to their customers, where they have to complete certain challenges for certain privileges, such as to get into the queue, served by waiters, or order premium items such as the white tuna sashimi, one of the favorite delicacies in Standing Sushi bar. Challenges include “stand eating your sushi”, “scream out loud Oishiiii”, or “a photo of the cutest waitress”. Virtual points, badges and items will be up for grabs for all customers, while there will be a daily leaderboard of the best players. Customers can also compete in teams with one another with sake bomb challenges. Customers at times may have to try and discover where their utensils are located, e.g. under their chairs, and they may have to solve a puzzle to be allowed to exit.

Keith Ng, the CEO of GameMaki currently based in San Francisco, shares, “We are all thrilled. Howard, the owner of Standing Sushi Bar and I chanced upon this idea over sake at his outlet, and at first laughed about it . We came back to the discussion when we evaluated carefully the tremendous potentials of this idea. With an experienced F&B partner, and our expertise in making fun, we can’t wait to get started. This venture fuels our belief that life is a game in itself”

Howard Lo, who grew up in United States, added, “Gartner thinks that more than 50% of enterprises will gamify their innovation processes, while M2 Research predicts US$2.8 billion will be spent on gamification services over the next 4 years. I firmly believe in the concept and how it will differentiate our sushi chains from competitors. The ultimate rewards in ‘GameMaki Bar’ are definitely our savory selections itself”.

‘GameMaki Bar’ will start operations on 15th April, on 23rd level of 150 California street, right in the heart of the business district, targeting the business and banking executives looking to chill after office hours, while they can continue to admire a beautiful sky view. GameMaki’s original web and mobile based gamification product, GameMaki.com, will continue to function and support the sushi chain’s operations.

“We have already finalized a store location in New York and Boston. Understandably, this is our most drastic pivot till date, but with validations from Angel’s Gate and Howard, I am confident this will be our final pivot.”, said Keith.

Po-po-po-poker face! Po-po-po-poker face!

All right, girls and boys. Today, we’re going to be talking about Poker.

No, wait … wait. Don’t run away! We’re definitely not promoting gambling here. (Well, we didn’t say you’ve got to play with money!)

Rather, we think it’s a great game for you to play with your friends anytime, anywhere. Just whip out a deck of cards and you’re good to go. No fuss, no heavy boards or bulky game pieces to carry around. And well, if you’re seeking some extra thrill – you can always use a bag of peanuts as currency. (;

Presenting … the Online Poker Maki.

The Online Poker Maki

With this Maki, Poker is no longer just a card game. If Poker was tricky before, it’s become even more challenging. Instead of merely winning, we’re now challenging you to achieve really specific things – like win 4 games in a row (whoa!), or play poker for 6 straight hours of Poker (remember to have your meals and use the bathroom, please!).

Well, just remember that winning is not always everything – but it’s the experience of picking up a new game that’s fun!

So, what the heck is Poker?
Poker is a game of bluff where the aim is to win all the bets accumulated after each round. This is achieved by having the best hand of cards or making others stop playing and ‘fold’ their cards. The interesting question is how to make people ‘fold’? It is all about understanding how your opponents play. This means that the round or bluff starts with the first bets, and that is what makes the game so exciting and intellectual. A person may seem conservative but you never know if he is preparing for a big bluff. Texas hold’em is the most popular version of poker.

Check out this guide to get the low-down on what this game is all about.

Disclaimer: This Maki feature and blog post is done in conjunction with our partner, Online Poker. And yes, this is completely legit. (:
